TIP OF THE MONTH
Access 2010 automatically saves all database files in Access 2007 format, which is great if all your users are working in an Access 2010 environment.
If, however, you plan to share your database with Access 2003/2007 users, you can achieve better performance by converting your database to the new Access version 2002/2003 format. Access 2010 will create a separate database file in the new format, leaving your original database file intact.
To convert your database to Access 2002/2003 file format:
- On the File menu, point to the Save & Publish option and click.
- Point to Save Database As option below File Types.
- Then click Access 2002/2003 Database.
- Finally click the Save As button.
Remember to include a reference to the format version in your file naming convention.
